Karen, our main pet sitter and dog walker and Divine Pet Care owner, is a licensed veterinary nurse with over 27 years of professional and academic animal care experience. Karen attended Mercy College, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Technology. There, she participated in a four-month college externship at the Animal Medical Center and a six-month externship at the Staten Island Zoo.
After college, Karen worked as a staff manager/PhD Animal Behavior Department Liaison at the ASPCA Adoption Center shelter. During her time with the shelter, she trained and managed more than 50 technicians in dog leash walking and other animal care. Karen also generated and maintained ASPCA shelter care protocols while leading the revision of disease control in major municipal shelters throughout New York City.
